Data node

To review a data node interface lets open as an example Oil Sells project and its Light oil sheet. There is Production volume data node which is connected to Total money formula node.

Screenshot The Production volume data node interface lets you view and manipulate the content of the table in the data node and versions of this content used for different scenarios. It also lets you navigate to the output nodes. Screenshot

(1)   Table data. Ex: oil production per well per quartal.

(2)   Row titles. In this example - well numbers.

(3)   Blue column titles mark the project time period.

(4)   Time “before project”. Place here the historical data.

(5)   Time “after project”.

(6)   Versions bar.

Each tab at this bar represents a different version of the table. Version (table content) becomes visible when you click on the tab. Rows names of all versions are the same, but the content of the table for different versions could be the same or could be different. For example we might have two versions: high production and low production. Those versions become available for selection by scenarios testing (Sheet view -> Scenarios tab at toolbar).

(7)   Path information.

It shows the complete path to the currently open node: Project name -> Sheet name -> Node name.

(8)   Page bar shows all currently open Projects, Sheets, Nodes.

(9)   Output connections menu.

It shows the list of nodes which are connected as outputs to the currently opened data node. In this example Total money formula node is connected as output to the Production volume node. Names of nodes in the output connections menu are very useful for fast navigation. Double click on the name of output node (Total money) opens this output node in a new tab and brings your focus to that tab. To navigate back to Production volume node double click on on its name (Production volume) in the input connections menu of Total money node.

(10)   Input/output connections search field.

In big projects nodes may have many output connections. Start typing the name of any node in the search field and only nodes with matching names will remain in the output connections menu.

(11)   Back button.

It shows a previously opened page (project, sheet, node) and lets you navigate there by just a single click.

(12)   Path and short node menu.

It shows the path to the current node (Project name / Sheet name / Node name). Single click on the node name brings up the menu which lets you rename the current node.

(13)   Data settings menu.

Click on this pictogram to call the Data settings menu.
