Tags
Tags are useful for easier navigation in big sheets typical for complex models. You can add one or more tags to any node or group of nodes. Than you can apply filters to show only:
- nodes/groups with selected tags in all sheets
- nodes/groups with selected tags only in currently open sheet
- if nodes/groups have several tags each there is a manager which allows to select any combination of tags
- if tags were used only for temporal purpose and are not in use any more you can apply filter “Not used” and delete these unused tags
Add and assign tags
To add a tag to a node or group:
- Right-click on a node. The pop-up menu will appear.
- Click on the “+ New tag” menu item. A submenu “Create tag” wil pop-up.
- Type in the name of the new tag.
- Turn on the radio button of desired color.
- And finally click on “Create tag” button.
- Menu will close and node will get a colored tag in the upper right corner.
As the tag is created explore the tabs bar on the left. Switch from “Nodes” to “Tags”. Then three other tabs will appear:
- All
- This sheet
- Not used
Tab “All” gives a list of all tags available in all sheets of your model and also sublists of nodes/groups which use those tags. Set a checkmark against any node and all other nodes on all your sheets (including currently open) wil be shaded. Un-checking tags and sheets will show all nodes and groups with default brightness.
Tab “All” also allows to create a new tag and only then assign this tag to nodes:
- Click on the “+ New tag” menu item. A submenu “Create tag” wil pop-up.
- Type in the name of the new tag.
- Turn on the radio button of the desired color.
- And finally click on “Create tag” button.
- Menu will close and your new tag will appear on top of the tags list.
- Now whenever you right-click on any node/group you will see this new tag available for assignment in the pop-up menu.
Tab “This sheet” gives you same possibilities as “All” but only for the current sheet and except the option to create new tags.
Tab “Not used” shows you the list of tags which are not assigned to any nodes. This list could be useful for:
- Rename and use those tags again.
- Delete these tags.
Remove and delete tags
To remove/un-assign tag from node:
- Right-click on the node. Pop-up menu will appear.
- Find the “Tags” submenu.
- Find the desired tag among those which have check-marks against them.
- Click on the check-mark and the tag will be removed/un-assigned from the node.
To completely delete tag from your project:
- Click on the “Tags” tab in the left menu.
- Click on the “All” tab and the list of all available in the project tags (in use or not in use) will appear.
