Main purpose of the software

Broadly understood purpose of AIMES is to create “digital twins” of managed systems and first of all business systems. We do believe that business systems evolving in time could be well reflected in mathematical models. AIMES is an easy to use and at the same time sophisticated tool for creation, analysis, optimization and follow-up of such models. This in turn leads to validated business choices resulting in trusted decision-support.

Visual modeling of the data flow

While still storing data in tables AIMES transfers the focus of your attention from data to their connections and transformations. You will not have a table with data in front of your eyes most of the time as before, but you will see the flowchart reflecting the data flows between tables. No more “three-rows-long-links-to-another-cell” as in usual spreadsheet apps. Create links between tables in exactly two clicks. Reorder tables lying on your desktop like playing cards on the table. Group and ungroup parts of the flowchart without compromising integrity. With AIMES visual modeling is more of a game of drag and drop than writing long expressions to just create a link.

Scenarios testing

How did you test scenarios in the past? Creating a copy of a column or even of a complete table was not that complicated. The real headache was to relink new versions of data to other resulting columns or tables. We introduce a completely new approach: each cell can contain multiple sets of data. That means any table can have several versions of data belonging to different scenarios. To test a different set of data in a new scenario is as easy as one click to select which version of a table to use in this scenario. And there is NO need to relink the data. AIMES is a real pioneer in simplifying scenario testing.

Multi-criteria optimization

Any business and not only business could be modeled as a flow of different resources in time: energy, goods, working hours, money, etc. Conversion of the numbers of some items into the others (e.g. number of sales and prices to revenue) is mathematically represented as an expression. A big business is a very complex expression, but it is a mathematical expression anyway. We use multivariate regression analysis to find the best way to change some parameters (called Controls) and not to change too much the other parameters (called Constraints) aiming to get the desired results of the expression (called Objectives). The more complex the expression (business) is, the less are humans able to find optimal solutions of such math problem. AIMES optimization tool does it multiple times better than humans do.

Financial model of a business is not a “single use” tool. After creation it should be followed up on a regular basis to detect the discrepancy between financial model and real state of a business.
